Thoughts on John 10
John 10:1-13 Jesus is talking in speech that the common man can follow and understand. Laying a foundation of spiritual truth that overlays with common knowledge. The first part is like saying water is wet. The crowd knows that's how sheep act. But to the Pharisees with their high and mighty, our hands can't get dirty, you are below us attitude can't see (pun intended) and understand. Jesus then expands on the foundation that He is the Door, the entrance, the way to GOD. He even states in plain language that he gives up his life for the sheep. I think that verses 12-13 are a jab at the Pharisees and a reminder of where priorities should lay. We have to be cautious of the hired hand that is in ministry for the perks, glory, money, etc as they will bolt at the first sign of trouble. I think it is also a reminder that our faith is to be in Jesus and not man. John 10:14-21 He KNOWS us. If that isn't a humbling thought I don't know what is. Sometimes I feel I don...
